Friends of TBN Africa partners with the Transformational Business Network's chapters in Kenya, Uganda, and South Africa to provide the funding, oversight, and strategic guidance that helps African entrepreneurs and communities flourish.
A Tennessee-based 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation founded to channel financial support and strategic oversight into proven, mission-aligned initiatives across Africa.
The problem we address: Across much of East and Southern Africa, capable entrepreneurs and community organizations often have the vision and drive to build lasting economic opportunity, but lack access to the capital, coaching, and connections needed to grow. Sustainable poverty alleviation requires more than aid, it requires investment in people and businesses that can create jobs and self-sufficiency.
Our approach: We partner with the Transformational Business Network (TBN) and other mission-aligned organizations already doing this work on the ground. Our Board reviews and pre-approves every project, ensuring funds are used exactly as intended and that our partners remain accountable and effective.
Friends of TBN Africa was incorporated in Tennessee in 2026 and is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
We maintain rigorous financial oversight and project-based accounting for every dollar granted.
We work alongside local leaders in Kenya, Uganda, and South Africa rather than dictating from afar.
We fund transformational business and education initiatives built to create lasting, self-sustaining growth.
Our Board follows a formal conflict-of-interest policy and pre-grant review process for every initiative we support.
A volunteer Board provides independent oversight of every grant and partnership, in line with IRS requirements for U.S. charities supporting international projects. Click any board member to read their full bio.
